Senior Periodontist joins Chingford Mount Dental Practice
 Dr. Nick Vyas, a senior Accredited Specialist in Periodontics, joined our practice in November 2011.He qualified as a dentist in 1990, gained a distinction in Periodontology from the Eastman Dental Institute in 1995 and acquired his Fellowship in Dental Surgery from the Royal College of Surgeons (Edinburgh) in 1996. He became a General Dental Council Registered Specialist in Periodontics in 1999 and completed a Certificate course in Implantology at the University of London in 2003/2004. Dr. Vyas is highly experienced and offers a full range of services in periodontology and the surgical placement of dental implants from initial assessment and treatment planning through to advanced treatments. Thereafter he ensures long term maintenance by co-ordinating care with dental and hygienist colleagues. He accepts Periodontal Referrals from referring dentists and provides treatment and expertise to Chingford Mount Dental Practice patients. Having worked as a general dental practitioner for many years, and because periodontal monitoring is ongoing, Dr. Vyas understands the importance of regular communication between referring dentists, their patients and himself. He was a Specialist Clinical Lecturer in Periodontology at The Royal London Dental Institute (QM&St.B) from 1997 to 2010 and now lectures nationally and internationally. Belgrave Dental welcomes New Practice Manager
 Victoria Harvey took over as Practice Manager at Belgrave Dental Practice earlier this month.She joined our Dental Group last year, initally working at Chingford Mount Dental Practice in a role that included all aspects of Reception work, general and computer-based practice administration and the training of staff on dental surgery support software. Victoria originally trained as a dental nurse but soon developed an interest in dental clinic administration. She worked as a dental receptionist and practice administrator in a number of busy London practices before joining us. We are delighted to welcome her to our Belgravia practice. Belgrave Dental adds early Morning and Evening Surgeries
 Many of our patients have been finding it increasingly difficult to fit in their Dental Appointments around work. So, we have extended Belgrave Dental's practice hours to include early morning and evening clinics.  Dr. Maria Mak, BDS MSc (Restorative Dent) joined Belgrave Dental Practice in August 2011. New Specialist in Oral Surgery at Chingford Mount Dental
 Dr. Neeta Patel is our new Oral Surgery Specialist. After graduating from Sheffield University in 1989, Dr. Patel started to build her career in oral surgery. She worked in junior and then more senior hospital posts between 1989 and 1995, gaining experience in all aspects of oral and maxillofacial surgery. She became a Fellow of Dental Surgery of the Royal College of Surgeons (England) in 1993 and moved into private practice in 1995. She now provides specialist oral surgery expertise to our patients, treats oral surgery patients referred to our practice by other dentists and provides oral surgery services to an eastern region PCT. Chingford Mount Dentist wins Prize
 Dr. Sabina Bidgol, one of the dentists at our Chingford Mount Dental Practice, has won the 2010 prize for Best Case Presentation for the Whipps Cross Dental Vocational Training Scheme. The Champagne and Prize Certificate where presented by Eloise Nutton of Denplan, the company which sponsored the award.Dr. Bidgol's case presentation involved multiple dental disciplines including endodontics, periodontics, oral surgery, prosthetics and bridge work. Principal Dentist, Dr. Raj Gogna was delighted for her. "Sabina chose a very complicated case and I am very pleased that she delivered such a high class case study", he said. Dr. Bidgol will be leaving Chingford Mount Dental Practice shortly to take up a position as SHO in Maxillofacial Surgery at The Eastman Dental Hospital, WC1. Endodontics at London Cosmetic Dentistry
 Endodontist, Dr. Periklis Ntelis has joined Chingford Mount Dental Practice. Dr. Ntelis graduated from the Dental School, National and Kapodistrian University of Athens in 2003. After working as an associate dentist in a private practice in Athens, he joined the Greek Air Force where he practised dentistry in the General Hospital of the Greek Air Force in Athens. He developed a special interest in Endodontics and, in 2005, moved to UK to work as a full-time associate in a mixed NHS/private practice in London before engaging in the MSc programme in Endodontics at the Eastman Dental Institute (University College London). Porcelain Crowns to restore a Smile
 Crowns are commonly used to replace badly damaged teeth. There are many types of crown, but the most popular has a ceramic core beneath the cosmetic porcelain. These crowns look extremely natural as the tooth-coloured ceramic is translucent and looks very similar to tooth enamel. Paul is a good example of someone who wanted to rectify a specific flaw. One of his front teeth had been chipped and filled, and was also misshapen and discoloured. Our dentist suggested restoration using a ‘new generation’ all-ceramic crown. Paul was also keen to brighten his teeth, so our dentist also arranged a course of Home Teeth Whitening. The results are shown to the right and took just three weeks to achieve. Using Porcelain Veneers to correct Dental Flaws
 Dental veneers are very versatile and can be used when teeth are cracked, bady discoloured, misaligned or otherwise aesthetically flawed. Porcelain veneers were a particularly good solution for one client who was concerned about the shape and alignment of her two top front teeth. She was referred to Dr. Gogna, our Senior Cosmetic Dentist, by a dentist from another surgery. Two thin porcelain veneers were made to correct the aesthetic flaws and these veneers were then fitted and bonded directly to the front surfaces of the teeth. Heidi was very pleased with the result and the photograph opposite shows her new smile. Dental veneers are always tailored to exact requirements. They are made to correct specific problems, taking into account the colour and size of the existing teeth and the need to create a natural, healthy-looking smile.
